Avi8cando is a non-profit 50l(c)3 corp.; and has as its mission the promotion
of all avenues of aviation and supporting the education of students in school.
Some of Avi8CanDo's goals are: Operate and oversee the youth Falcons program
to all students in school ages 12 to 19 years old. Each student
accepted into the program will sign a contract counter-signed by their parents,
promising to remain in school and maintain at least a "C" grade in all
subjects. No use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco or involvement in any gang activities
will be permitted.
In addition to the above, students 15 1/2 and older will be enrolled in a FAA
certified private ground school. At the completion of the course and the passing
of the written FAA exam, the student will be enrolled in a standardized flight
training program to earn the private pilot certificate. The cost will be
partially if not mostly funded by Avi8CanDo.
Andrew
A Lehner, seen here with his mother Marshel Gilbert is involved with a
presentation he will accomplish reflective to a competition tied to History Day
at Humboldt State University. Andrew who is a member of Avi8cando and a Falcon,
is currently 12 years of age will be giving a public address on the Wright
Brothers. The presentation is to last some 12 minutes.
Andrew has a tremendous interest in aviation and is very excited to talk
about the Wright’s and their achievements. His presentation will be given before
a large audience at Founders Hall and is in competition with others. A
successful presentation may lead Andrew to forthcoming competitions state wide.
Whatever the outcome, we (Avi8cando and the Falcons), his parent and other close
contacts support him in this great effort and are excited for him.
Each and every Falcon can find opportunities in some way to enhance their
capabilities and interests and we all applaud Andrew to take such expanded steps
to enhance his knowledge, skills and interests.
We know you will do well Andrew! ….. keep up the great work!
